Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys

A Phoenix Deck revolves around summoning "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys", usually by the effect of "Hand of Nephthys". "Phoenix" is able to maintain field presence, and, in the event it is destroyed, its effect revives it in the Standby Phase of the controllers next turn and destroys all Spell and Trap Cards. Some players even destroy their own "Phoenix" so they can destroy opposing Spell and Trap Cards.

Traps that activate upon their own destruction, such as "Dark Coffin" and "Statue of the Wicked", and monsters with a similar effect to "Phoenix", such as "Gigantes" and "Elemental Hero Wildheart" equipped with "Cyclone Boomerang", are also common in Phoenix Decks. "Vampire Lord" also works well in this Deck, as it can also revive itself when destroyed by card effects.

Weaknesses

The major flaw of the Phoenix Deck is that it can be easily crippled by cards that remove monsters from play, like "Dimensional Fissure" or "Macro Cosmos" can completely shut down the deck if not dealt with. For that reason, players often sidedeck "Burial from a Different Dimension" and "D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation", although "Imperial Iron Wall" can totally prevent the likelihood of this happening.

"Stardust Dragon" can weaken and work with this deck considerably, due to its effect which can prevent card destruction. "Dark Nephthys" and "Simorgh, Bird of Divinity" can both easily find a place in this deck also
